PhoroHunt: Tiny

This week's photohunt is tiny, a word near and dear to my heart. My kids, as I'm sure many do, just love tiny things. And I love to see their faces giggle and coo over tiny little toys. This first photo is of my son's newborn hand. He was born with a tiny extra thumb. For a while he was the "freak" of the neighborhood (in a most loving way). We'd run into people at the park who'd say "ooh, is this the kid with the tiny thumb?" Little kids loved to look at it. We had it removed when he was 11 months old and now he loves to show off his tiny little scar, although it's so small he often shows the wrong hand.

And here is a tiny little shark trapped behind the gate. I thought it looked so forlorn I snapped the photo. The darn security people kept bolting the pool gates, and we hung around for a bit waiting for them. I brought a handful of toys, including a few of the sea creatures D had picked out a recent dollar store trip. Of course he threw it in and the poor little guy was all alone. The kids tried to scale the fence to no avail. Fortunately an older kid had succeeded in getting in over the gate, and rescued Mr. Shark for us.

Our son was born with 2 extra fingers, one attached to each pinkie. We had them removed before we brought him home (he was an ill baby and didn't come home for months!). Now he is 26. Cute little man!

You know here in the Philippines, anyone having an extra tiny finger is considered as a lucky charm or bringer of "luck" in a family.

    have a great weekend! :)
